Our approach

LSHTM wanted an update to their two EPrints repositories to give them a more modern look and feel. We upgraded them to the latest version of EPrints

Working with the team at LSHTM, we retained the core structure of EPrints but reimagined the user interface using Google’s Material design framework. This enabled us to create a highly responsive UI using elements that look familiar to users who use other web resources built on the same framework (most notably Google’s own suite of tools).

As part of the redesign, we enhanced the accessibility testing included as part of our repository service to use additional tools commonly used by auditing exercises. This means that we can better ensure LSHTM’s repositories (and others using this design framework) are accessible to all users and that we can anticipate the results of accessibility audits.
