We provide Open Access and restricted access systems that help our customers meet the requirements of their researchers, organisation, funders and users.

We also provide a range of additional services, such as archival storage integration and open journal publishing to help your organisation integrate with the wider research environment.

Hosted Repository Solutions

We offer solutions from entry-level systems for small organisations to fully customised systems for organisations with very specific requirements.

We provide regular Service Review Calls for all of our customers to ensure we keep in touch regularly. We offer high quality support via our ticketing system Service Now, which is supported by our service desk. 

This means you won't be left in the dark once your repository is up and running.

Digital archive example

Kings’ Fund Digital Archive

A publications repository showcasing the research and reports funded and published by this independent charity. By providing a platform for discovery and dissemination of their research, this repository is a part of the overall mission of the organisation to promote greater understanding of healthcare policy and practice among the general public and health communities.

London South Bank University Research

An Open Access publications repository that is designed to manage the research work published by staff at London South Bank University. This repository supports the discovery and delivery of all the research publications that can be made available under Open Access model, a model supported by the institution as part of their commitment to the sharing and reuse of work within the research community and the wider world.

BiRD - Birkbeck Research Data

A research data repository, built to support a pilot service at Birkbeck College, University of London. Birkbeck is an institution that is heavily involved in research and has a world-wide reputation in as a research-intensive institution. This repository is designed to support a pilot service that allows researchers from the college to upload their research data and get a DOI. The pilot service plays a key role in the commitment of Birkbeck to manage the research data created by their staff.

The Linnean Collections

A series of image-heavy collections including digitised natural history specimens, historical plant and animal illustrations, digitised historical diaries and notebooks, including a zoom function to give close-view access to the delicate, unique images. This repository is designed to support the Society, now entering its third century, to provide a continuous forum for the discussion of life sciences by making available online key parts of the collection in digital formats.

EPrints

We offer a hosted repository service for publications or data using the EPrints open source repository software.

We provide and maintain all the repository infrastructure, allowing Repository Managers to concentrate on managing their content. Our EPrints repository platforms include a number of plugins to help with data description, HEFCE and funder compliance and more.

Samvera

We build and host bespoke repository solutions using the open source Samvera framework. Samvera allows storage of any type of digital files, big or small, for the purposes of access and/or digital archiving.

We can offer out of the box solutions, like Hyku, the "feature-rich, robust, flexible digital repository", and Avalon, the digital audio and video media system. As well as this, we can create a bespoke repository customised for your requirements, based on the Hyrax repository engine. A range of plugins provide additional functionality, such as: 

  • IIIF search
  • DataCite DOIs
  • OAI-PMH
  • Bespoke metadata models

Beyond the repository, we can build discovery interfaces to search across multiple data sources with the Blacklight suite of tools, and integrate with preservation systems and more.

 

Arkivum

In partnership with Arkivum, we offer tenanted access to the Arkivim archival storage network with their 100% data integrity guarantee. When integrated with your repository, Arkivum archival storage can support an efficient environment for managing all research outputs, whether data or publications to meet funder requirements for long-term preservation. This can be integrated with your repository.

The Open Journal Systems (OJS) is a journal management and publishing system that has been developed by the Public Knowledge Project to expand and improve access to research.
