We offer a fully managed internship programme that gives all boroughs access to the most talented and hardworking recent graduates from the best universities in the UK. This is in line with the Recruitment Services’ core value of getting graduates into careers.
We provide project support to the following areas:

- Housing associations;
- Children's services.
Launched in May 2013 the LCIP Scheme - formerly run by The Careers Group - has gone from strength to strength. So far we have worked with a number of Local authorities across London where we have successfully managed the ‘London Councils Internship programme’ for the past four years, managing all of their internships and graduate needs.
LCIP Internships offer graduates who wish to pursue a career in local government the chance to experience working in a local council and gain an insight into the sector. The paid internship scheme is open to graduates from all UK universities and it is hoped that it will provide both valuable work experience and the scheme will raise awareness of career opportunities in the local authorities and government.
What we do
We can be very flexible with the ways we operate, and always want to provide the best possible service for the individual council. We offer a Standard or Fast-Track process – this is usually based on how quickly you need an intern to be placed in the role.
The standard recruitment process for LCIP candidates does not take as long as you may think and there are numerous benefits for you, as the line manager, in advertising the role.
It usually takes between 2-4 weeks, depending on the role. Most admin and project support roles can be submitted to line managers well within this time frame.
The fast-track process for LCIP candidates usually takes between 3-7 days, depending on the role. We use our database of pre-interviewed candidates, applicants to our LCIP general advert and candidates we have head hunted specifically for the role.
We recommend that this process is used in cases where the intern is required in the position urgently and with little flexibility on start date.
